We will pick you up upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer you to your lodge in Moshi. Meet the crew, conduct bike fittings, suspension/tire pressure checks, and go through the safety and route orientation session. Lead a relaxed 15–20 km warm-up spin through Moshi countryside and foothills at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro to test gear and adjust setups. Welcome briefing and group dinner at a local Moshi restaurant; final packing review for support vehicle.

Early departure cycling eastward across the banana and coffee groves on Mount Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes, passing traditional Chagga farming communities. Pause for a roadside picnic lunch before taking on the punchy volcanic gravel climb up to the crater rim overlooking Lake Chala. Sundowners overlooking the crater lake straddling the Kenya–Tanzania border, followed by dinner and overnight stay at the crater rim lodge or campsite.

Load bikes onto support vehicles for a 220 km (4–5 hrs) transfer bypassing the hot highway corridor via Mombo, ascending the mountain pass into Lushoto in the West Usambara Mountains. Unload bikes in Lushoto for a 25–30 km warm-up ride through cool pine plantations, cedar forest tracks, and highland village ridges. Settle into a mountain lodge in Lushoto; enjoy a hot meal by the fireplace and brief for the high-altitude mountain stages ahead.

Begin the climb deeper into the Usambara highlands, navigating technical red-dirt tracks, passing remote farming hamlets, and riding past terraced hillsides. Stop for lunch along the trail before riding the final ridge sequence up toward Mambo cliff edge. Arrive at Mambo View Point Eco Lodge. Enjoy cliffside views overlooking the Mkomazi plains 1,000 meters below followed by dinner.

Begin the long descent down the mountain pass out of the Usambara Mountains, navigating winding gravel switchbacks and experiencing rapid temperature and vegetation changes. Level out on flat, fast dirt roads through tea plantations and lowland palm groves around Muheza for a late afternoon finish. Dinner and overnight stay at a lowland lodge or eco-camp in preparation for the coastal leg.

Set off on the final push to the coast, riding singletrack and sandy double-track trails through rural Swahili hamlets and coconut palms. Reach the Indian Ocean shoreline; cycle the remaining coastal paths through historic Pangani town with cultural highlights organized by Pangani Coast Cultural Tourism. Celebrate the completion of the Kilimanjaro-to-Coast ride with a beachfront seafood dinner along the oceanfront.
